APOLOGIES : D.F, K.S, P.F, G.W, A.L.

RESULTS : There were 8 participants on the day therefore the comp. sec. implemented a Betterball competition for the day. Two 2s achieved today both by Jocks [R.H.] on 8th using an 8 iron and 14 using a 4 iron. The 2s sweep of £3.40 including roll over was shared between Jocks and his playing partner Jethro.

Duffers of the Day was once again the current champion – Brains [J.G.] and his playing partner – The Rabbi [P.L.] who managed to accumulate a paltry 34 points and handicaps were lifted to 32 and 17 respectively.

Runners up was the team of Jocks [R.H.] and Jethro [E.E.] with a score of 40 points who were pipped by the winners – Chairman Straggler [F.B.]and the Cardinal [P.B.] with 41 points.

TOASTS: Team G.B & N.I. Athletics for accumulating the most medals in the European Championship, the England Ladies Cricket and Rugby Union teams who both became World Champions and the team, fans and representatives of Manchester City F.C. for the respect shown on sunday at St James Park for the two NUFC fans who sadly lost their lives in the aircraft disaster over Ukraine.

LAST WEEKS MINUTES : Accepted as a true record

BUSINESS: The Chairman listed the requests recieved for Mohgs Polo Shirts.
The chair also queried the the fact that no handicap penalty was given to 2nd place even though each recieved the princely sum of £1 to which the Comp. Sec. responded by referring the Chair to the current rules in betterball competition and added that any winner of the 2s purse received no handicap penalty even though it was invariably greater than the Betterball runners up prize prize.

The Cardinal had suggested that the most likely date for Hunley Hall was Sunday 5th October. However Crocs said this was depend on NUFC fixtures that weekend and would investigate and report back. [Note from Jocks: – fixture list states that NUFC play Swansea City away on saturday 4th October 2014. Also the proposed away trip to Hull for the combined football\golf extravaganza may be a “non starter” as the current date for the match is 31st January 2014 which may be risky weatherwise for golf.

Swears : £? Handed to the treasurer including £0.50 from Jocks who was duped into contributing in excess of his rightful debt due to his lack of the correct amount of change. Jocks stated that sculduggery and creative accounting had come to the fore!!

Tee times next Monday as usual – 8.40,8.48 and 8.56 am

Apologies for next Monday : R.H, E.E.
