Minutes of MOHGS Meeting 21 August 2023

Apologies from all those not here.

Present:-  PB, PL, JG(1), TM, DF, JG(2), SB (left the course unwell), TH, LW, JG(3), MF, CM.

The Geezer slipped effortlessly into the Chair.

Twelve players originally today so 4 groups of 3 with the best 2 to score!

Competition Results;

Two two’s again today by The Scuttler, he very magnanimously donated his winnings to the Emperor’s Tin. Duffers of the Day were The Rabbi, Brains, and The Cardinal with 63 points.

The Laird, The Geezer and Monty were DDOD with 68 points.

Runners Up were Crocs, Sparky and JG(3) with 73 points.

So winners were The Scuttler and Johnnie, ably assisted for some holes by SB, scoring an impressive 75 points. They share £11.

Handicaps will be adjusted in the time honoured manner.

Geezer Cards raised £2.80, Swears £3.20  and the Levy raised £5.50, plus £3 from the winning pot!

Toasts Victor Hovland for winning the BMW in USA, with a round of 61!

Last week’s minutes were accepted.

Johnnie suggested we record our grateful thanks to Shagpile for arranging the golf at Newbiggin last Monday.

Next Monday is Bank Holiday, can those MOHGS who were not there today please let the Laird know if they intend to play. He will adjust the tee reservations on Wednesday 23 August so let him know tomorrow!!!The Chairman’s operation had been successful however he is to be careful for the next 10 days. We all wish him well for a swift recovery.The meeting was concluded at 12.30.
