Ming questioned the validity of using the 3 put geezer card on temporary greens. The Competition Secretary suggested that as there was no discernible limit to the temporary greens, it was impossible to apply the 3 put rule on the temporary greens. Clearly on the proper green the rule still applies. This interpretation seemed to find general favour with the assembly.
Herbie had been keeping close check on the MOHGS performances over the full season, both winter and summer competitions. He had awarded points for various finishes and at the end of the exercise he decreed that The Laird had amassed the most points and was therefore the Champion Golfer over the full year. The Laird was presented with the magnificent trophy.
Herbie also appraised the two’s champion; however, a number of members had made 4 two’s and therefore there was no overall King of Cash this year.
He did intimate that his spreadsheet would be circulated.
The Rabbi gave an update on Biggles. He is about to go to Preston to get intensive therapy for swallowing. He has been there before, and it has proved extremely helpful. After that he is to get a week intensive speech therapy with specialists in Gateshead. We all wish him well.
The meeting closed at 11.35am.
