Present: – AW, PB, DF, LW, PL, JG (1), TH (golf only), MC, BR, DGM, CM (meeting only), MS, PF, GW, TM, CC.

Fifteen players this fine morning which allowed the competition secretary some leeway! Five three balls, two scores to count off 90% of MOHGS handicap.

Two Beers assumed the role Chairman.

Competition Results.

The Laird was very complimentary to those who marked the score cards. Only a small reprimand for Ming who had omitted the points score from the box on the score card.

One two today at the 17th by the Rabbi, he pockets £3.00. Although it was a holed bunker shot not a proper two!

Duffers of the Day were Johnnie, Winker and Cardinal with 67 points.

Deputy Duffers of the Day were Geezer, Emperor and Ming with 73 points.

Today’s winners were Scuttler (again), Brains and Two Beers with 78 points, they get £5 each.

Levy raised £7.50.

Swears raised £4.20.

Geezer Cards raised £3.50.

Toasts

The Laird proposed a toast to all the home nations rugby union winners over the weekend.

He also proposed a toast to The Toon for beating Arsenal.

Last meeting’s minutes were accepted.

Matters Arising

Two Beers had arranged a night away at Slayley Hall for the last Sunday in March. He had eight names put forward, an additional two were added (Cardinal and Johnnie). He would book rooms for 10 and three tee times.

Herbie congratulated Two Beers for his perseverance in arranging these away nights.

AOB

Card had been received from Margaret thanking the MOHGS for her retirement present.

Observations from the course.

Herbie complemented the Laird for the selection of competition, and also the players for alacrity of play.

Brains was then persuaded to demonstrate his cardio-vascular exercises, at some stage his trousers appeared to be round his knees. (metaphorically speaking)

Ming hoped that the American voters do the right thing in electing the next (47th) President. The Chair felt that we were in no position to pontificate after our attempts to elect a government!

Christmas arrangements well in hand. Emperor has discussed food with the club, numbers will be taken nearer the date of 16th December. We hope to tee off at 10am for 11 holes before festive food and games.

The meeting closed at 12.40.
