Fourteen golfers this morning, Cardinal and Herbie went out first to compete in the Seniors Calcutta, they also formed a pair for the 4BBB competition selected by the returning Competition Secretary. Hopefully the warm weather training would pay off!

Results

Unfortunately, Marcus was unwell on the course and returned to the clubhouse from the 8^th.

We all wish him a speedy recovery. It meant that the Rabbi had to compete as a single player for the remaining 11 holes.

One team two today by Captain Geezer at the 8^th, he pocketed the £2.80.

Duffers of The Day was Captain Geezer and the Laird with 39 points, they get handicap uplift of one shot.

Deputy Duffers of The Day were Bumpers and Rabbi with 40 points, they get nothing.

Neither do third place teams of Two Beers and The Emperor, Brains and Ming with 41 points.

Runners Up were Cardinal and Herbie, together with Matador and Silver Fox with 42 points. They get £1 each.

The winning team was Kwok and Davo with 43 points. They get £5 each and a shot reduction.

The Levy raised £13.

Geezer Cards/Swears raised £4.

Toasts

Toasts were offered to Rory who completed the golf grand slam by winning the Masters yesterday. The first European to achieve the Grand Slam of Golf.

Also, to Justin Rose for pushing Rory to the limits yesterday.

The Toon for thrashing Manchester United 4-1 yesterday.

Dan Burn for rescuing a stranded motorist on the A19 on Saturday.

Herbie for victory over The Cardinal in the Seniors Calcutta.

A show of hands indicated that the tee times for next Monday should remain.

Captain Geezer reminded everyone of the sponsored walk around the course with children. He thought that some MOHGS could dragoon some random children to accompany them!

Herbie announced the results of the end of year awards.

The King of the Cash (twos winner) was Herbie himself with 8 twos over the year.

The Champion Golfer of the Year was Brains who amassed a mammoth 84 points on Herbie’s unique scoring system.

The Trophy was presented to Brains. Two in two weeks, will he have room in his trophy cabinet!
